Micky van de Ven set a new Premier League record when he hit a top speed of 37.38 kilometres per hour during Tottenham Hotspur's 3-2 win over Brentford last month.

The Premier League only started recording players' sprint speeds at the beginning of the 2020/21 season.

Since then, just two players have reached speeds in excess of 37 km/h.

One is Spurs defender Van de Ven and the other is Manchester City right-back Kyle Walker, who clocked 37.31 km/h during a game against Everton last season.

Van de Ven's record-breaking display of pace against Brentford came in only his third game back following a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.

The 22-year-old Dutchman had previously hit a top speed of 35.97 km/h while playing for Wolfsburg in Germany's Bundesliga last season.
