Mo Salah Scores 100th Anfield Goal As Liverpool Beat Brentford To Extend Winning Run To Six Games
Liverpool recorded a sixth straight Premier League win by beating Brentford 1-0 on Saturday.
Mo Salah scored the only goal of the game when he bundled home from close range in the 13th minute after a cross from Fabinho had been headed into his path by Virgil van Dijk.
This was Salah's 100th goal at Anfield and he has now scored in nine consecutive home games.
Speaking about his scoring record at Anfield, Salah told Sky Sports after the game: "It means a lot to me. I feel at home here.
"I am happy. We just need to finish the season in the best possible way."
Salah has now scored 30 goals this season in all competitions, having got 31 in each of the last two campaigns.
He added: "It's something that makes me proud. I work really hard and everybody knows that, everybody sees that. I am motivated to keep breaking records and winning games."
Brentford piled plenty of pressure on Liverpool as they searched for an equalizer but keeper Alisson Becker only faced one shot on target.
Alisson has now kept 100 clean sheets in 228 appearances for the Reds.
Liverpool's win maintained their slim hopes of finishing in the top four but Jurgen Klopp's side will need Newcastle or Manchester United to slip up in multiple games if they are to leapfrog them in the table.
