New Mason Mount Squad Number Revealed By Manchester United As He Follows In Footsteps Of Club Legends
Manchester United have confirmed that new signing Mason Mount will wear the no.7 jersey at Old Trafford.
Mount, who completed a £60 million transfer from Chelsea on Wednesday, is the first player to take that squad number since Cristiano Ronaldo left the club in November last year.
No.7 has been worn by many club legends at United.
Before belonging to Ronaldo, the likes of David Beckham, Bryan Robson, Eric Cantona and George Best all excelled for the Red Devils with no.7 on their back.
United broke the news that Mount would be their next no.7 by uploading a video to social media of the 24-year-old putting on his new home jersey.
The video was accompanied by the caption: "It's time to write a new chapter."
Mount had been assigned no.19 as his squad number during his entire first-team career at Chelsea.
He previously wore no.8 during loan spells at Vitesse Arnhem and Derby County.
