Newcastle United thrashed Sheffield United 8-0 at Bramall Lane on Sunday in a game that saw multiple records broken.

This was the heaviest league defeat in the Blades' 134-year history, while it was Newcastle's biggest ever away league win.

Newcastle also became the first team in Premier League history to have eight different scorers in one game.

Sean Longstaff, Dan Burn, Sven Botman, Callum Wilson, Anthony Gordon, Miguel Almiron, Bruno Guimaraes and Alexander Isak all hit the net on Sunday.

Kieran Trippier registered three assists, with the England right-back's fine display of crossing setting up headed strikes for Burn, Botman and Wilson.

Newcastle's biggest league win of all time remains a 13-0 home victory over Newport County in October 1946.

Meanwhile, the record for the biggest win in EPL history is still jointly held by Leicester, Manchester United and Liverpool.

Leicester won 9-0 away at Southampton in 2019. Manchester United then equaled that record by thrashing Southampton 9-0 at Old Trafford in 2021, before Liverpool beat Bournemouth by the same score at Anfield in August last year.
