Ivory Coast winger Nicolas Pepe has joined Trabzonspor in Turkey on a free transfer from Arsenal.

Pepe, 29, had been under contract at the Emirates Stadium until June 2024 but he became a free agent on Thursday when his deal with the Premier League club was terminated by mutual consent.

Hours later he flew to Turkey to complete a medical before being unveiled as a Trabzonspor player.

Trabzonspor finished seventh in the Turkish Super Lig last season but a confident Pepe told his new fans: "I came here to become a champion and achieve success."

Pepe moved to Arsenal in August 2019 when he joined from French side Nice for a transfer fee of £72 million.

He went on to feature in 80 Premier League games, scoring 16 goals and providing nine assists.

Pepe's final appearance for Arsenal came back in May 2022.

He spent last season on loan at former club Nice.
