Nottingham Forest Beat Arsenal To Complete Premier League Survival Mission
Nottingham Forest cannot be relegated from the Premier League this season after completing their survival mission with a 1-0 win over Arsenal on Saturday.
Taiwo Awoniyi scored Forest's winning goal 19 minutes into the game at the City Ground.
The result made it impossible for either Leicester or Everton to overtake Forest this season, meaning that Steve Cooper's side can finish no lower than 17th.
It also ended Arsenal's title challenge, confirming Manchester City as champions of England for the third season in a row.
Forest had appeared to be in big trouble less than a month ago following a run of 11 games without a win.
But the Reds have taken 10 points from five matches since then, beating Brighton, Southampton and now Arsenal, while also drawing away at Chelsea.
Awoniyi has scored five goals in three appearances, after scoring only four times in his first 24 EPL games.
Southampton will definitely be playing next season in the EFL Championship.
The other two relegation places have yet to be decided but Leeds, Leicester and Everton are the teams at risk.
Everton have not been relegated since 1951.
