Pep Guardiola Joins Elite List Of Managers Who Have Won Champions League Three Times
Pep Guardiola has become the third manager to win the UEFA Champions League at least three times.
Guardiola's Manchester City side beat Inter Milan 1-0 in Saturday's final in Istanbul to be crowned champions of Europe for the first time in the club's 136-year history.
But Guardiola had conquered the continent before.
He managed Barcelona to UCL glory in both 2009 and 2011, after being a European champion as a player in 1992.
Carlo Ancelotti remains the most successful manager in Champions League history, having won it four times from the dugout - with AC Milan in 2003 and 2007, then with Real Madrid in 2014 and 2022.
Zinedine Zidane has masterminded three Champions League triumphs, all with Real - in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
The only other manager to lead a team to glory three times in Europe's top men's club tournament is Bob Paisley.
Paisley's titles with Liverpool - in 1977, 1978 and 1981 - all came before the European Cup was rebranded as the Champions League in 1992.
