Pepe is now the oldest scorer in UEFA Champions League history after netting a late goal in Porto's 2-0 win over Royal Antwerp on Tuesday.

Former Real Madrid center-back Pepe made UCL history in the first minute of added time when he headed home from a Chico Conceicao cross at the Estadio do Dragao.

Pepe was aged 40 years and 254 days on Tuesday.

He is the first player to score in the Champions League after their 40th birthday.

Prior to Pepe, the record for the oldest UCL scorer had been held by Francesco Totti, who scored the final European goal of his Roma career in November 2014 at the age of 38 years and 59 days.

Last year, Pepe became the oldest player to score a goal in a knockout game at a FIFA Men's World Cup when he helped Portugal thrash Switzerland 6-1 in Qatar.

However, the overall record for the oldest goalscorer in World Cup history is still held by Roger Milla, who netted for Cameroon against Russia in the group stage in 1994 - 39 days after his 42nd birthday.

Pepe will be 43 when the next Men's World Cup kicks off in 2026...
