Portugal played without Cristiano Ronaldo in their final match before the World Cup.

Ronaldo was not missed as his Manchester United teammate Bruno Fernandes scored twice in a 4-0 friendly win over Nigeria on Thursday.

Fernandes netted both of his goals in the opening 45 minutes before being subbed off at half-time.

Goncalo Ramos and Joao Mario then scored in the second period.

Diogo Dalot was one of only four Portugal outfielders to play the full 90 minutes.

Dalot, who received praise from Ronaldo in his recent interview with Piers Morgan, assisted Fernandes for the opening goal.

The right-back then conceded a penalty in the second half, but the spot-kick from Emmanuel Dennis was saved by Rui Patricio.

Ronaldo missed the game due to a reported stomach bug.

The game took place in Lisbon, with Portugal set to fly to Qatar the morning after.

Portugal's first game in Qatar will be their Group H opener against Ghana on November 24.

Uruguay and South Korea are also in Group H.
