Harry Kane is one of seven nominees for the official Premier League Player of the Season award.

The Tottenham striker has scored 27 goals in 36 EPL matches so far this season.

But he is unlikely to be named as the Player of the Season as he is up against a striker in Erling Haaland who has netted 36 times in 33 games.

Haaland is seen as the standout favorite to win the award, which will be decided by votes from fans and a panel of experts.

But the Norwegian will face competition from City teammate Kevin De Bruyne, Newcastle right-back Kieran Trippier and Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford.

Meanwhile, Arsenal duo Bukayo Saka, 21, and Martin Odegaard, 24, have each been nominated for both the Player of the Season award and the Young Player of the Season prize.

Five of the seven nominees were included in the official Premier League Team of the Season, which was announced earlier this month. But Kane and Saka both missed out on a place in that XI.

This year's Player of the Season award is sponsored by EA Sports. You can vote for your favorite by visiting pl.pots.easports.com.

Voting will close at noon (UK time) on May 22. The winner will be revealed on May 27.
