Kylian Mbappe does NOT stand to earn €636 million over the three years of his current Paris Saint-Germain contract, a club spokesperson has insisted.

French newspaper Le Parisien published a report on Monday detailing how Mbappe's deal, signed in May, had made him the world's highest-paid athlete.

Le Parisien claimed that Mbappe was on €6m gross monthly, worth €216m over three years.

Mbappe's contract was also said to include a signing bonus of €180m to be paid in three installments. It was stated in the report that Mbappe would still receive any remaining installments in full were he to leave PSG before the expiration of his contract.

The rest of Mbappe's reported €636m income was supposed to come from a loyalty bonus. Le Parisien claimed that Mbappe was set to receive a payment for staying at the end of each transfer window.

Mbappe's reward for staying in the first year was allegedly €70m, then €80m in year two, followed by a whopping €90m if he were still a PSG player in September 2024.

But Le Parisien's detailed breakdown of Mbappe's contract is inaccurate, according to PSG.

A club statement, obtained by The Mirror, read: "Following a sensationalist media story published overnight regarding the club and one of its players, Paris Saint-Germain confirms the story is completely wrong with not a single detail being correct.

"The timing of the spurious publication by this media outlet is also surprising, just days before an important Champions League match.

"Paris Saint-Germain will not be dignifying this matter with any further comment. Instead of commenting on rumors and gossip, everyone at the club is positively focused on the important Champions League game."

PSG are set to face Maccabi Haifa in Paris on Tuesday night.
