Rangers 1-7 Liverpool

Liverpool forward Mo Salah now holds the record for the fastest hat-trick in UEFA Champions League history after hitting three goals in 372 seconds against Rangers.

Salah came off the bench 68 minutes into Wednesday's Group A game in Glasgow when Liverpool were already 3-1 ahead.

The Egyptian ace then scored on 76, 80 and 81 minutes to fire Liverpool into a 6-1 lead before Harvey Elliott made it 7-1.

All three of Salah's goals were set up by Diogo Jota, who became the first man since 2012 to record a hat-trick of UCL assists for the same player.

Liverpool ended the night celebrating their biggest European victory since 2017 but it had been Rangers who started better.

Scott Arfield fired Rangers into the lead on 17 minutes before Roberto Firmino equalized midway through the first half.

Firmino then struck again 10 minutes into the second half before setting up Darwin Nunez to make it 3-1 moments before Salah's introduction.

Firmino has now assisted 12 Champions League goals for Liverpool - tying a club record with Steven Gerrard and James Milner.
