Former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke has been pleasantly surprised by what he has seen from Rasmus Hojlund so far.

Hojlund joined United for a transfer fee of £72 million in August when he signed from Atalanta in Italy.

The 20-year-old has not yet scored in his first five Premier League appearances, but he has netted three times in two Champions League matches for the Red Devils.

Yorke had barely even heard of Hojlund before he arrived at Old Trafford and he admits that the Danish frontman has so far exceeded his initial expectations.

"I have to be totally brutal and say I don't know much about Hojlund as he's never been on the radar and he's come out of nowhere," Yorke told FanNation Futbol this week.

"Nobody was searching him until he arrived!

"He certainly has potential, I get that, and him playing at this level already was something I couldn't see happening.

"The fact he's got three goals to his name is a real positive and I like what I've seen so far."

Hojlund scored his seventh goal for Denmark in his 10th international appearance on Tuesday night, coming in a 2-1 win over San Marino.

He will be hoping to open his Premier League account on Saturday when United visit Sheffield United, who have conceded more EPL goals than any other team this season.

Yorke - who scored 65 goals for United between 1998 and 2001 - was speaking to FanNation Futbol on behalf of investment data analysis platform Stocklytics.
