Rasmus Hojlund Paraded At Old Trafford After Completing £72m Transfer From Atalanta To Manchester United
Denmark striker Rasmus Hojlund has completed his transfer from Atalanta to Manchester United.
The 20-year-old, who scored nine goals in 32 Serie A appearances last season, was paraded in front of United fans at Old Trafford ahead of Saturday's friendly game against Lens.
According to BBC Sport, United will pay Atalanta £72 million for Hojlund, who has signed a contract until June 2028.
In his first interview with ManUtd.com, Hojlund said: "It is no secret that I have been a fan of this great club since I was a small boy, and I dreamed of walking out at Old Trafford as a Manchester United player.
"I am incredibly excited by this opportunity to turn that dream into a reality, and I am determined to repay the faith that the club has shown in me. It is still early in my career, but I know that I am ready to make this step up and play with this group of world-class players.
"Once I had spoken to the manager, I knew that this environment would be perfect for my development; I am relishing the opportunity to work with one of the best coaches in the world. Under his guidance and support I know that I am capable of achieving great things together with my new teammates at this special club."
Hojlund is unlikely to make his debut in United's Premier League opener against Wolves on August 14 due to a minor injury sustained earlier this summer.
But he will train with his new teammates next week.
Hojlund is United's third major signing of the summer - following the arrivals of Mason Mount for £60m and Andre Onana for £47.2m from Chelsea and Inter Milan respectively.
