Roy Keane Calls Andy Robertson A "Big Baby" After His Reaction To Being Elbowed By Assistant Referee Constantine Hatzidakis
Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane has branded Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson "a big baby".
Keane's criticism of Robertson came after assistant referee Constantine Hatzidakis appeared to elbow the Scot at half-time in Sunday's 2-2 draw between Liverpool and Arsenal.
Robertson, who had been shouting at Hatzidakis prior to the linesman lashing out, told Sky Sports reporter Geoff Shreeves as he headed back to the locker room: "He's just elbowed me in the throat, the linesman has elbowed me in the throat!"
Keane was also working for Sky Sports at Anfield and he was asked by presenter David Jones: "Have you ever seen anything like it, Roy?"
The Irishman replied: "No, not really. But Robertson, do you know what, does he grab the linesman first? I'm not sure, but he's complaining. He should be more worried about his defending.
"Do you know what it is, that Robertson? I've watched him a number of times. He's a big baby. That's what he is. Just get on with the game and concentrate on your defending. He does grab the linesman first."
Keane repeated his point after the match by again calling Robertson a "big baby", sparking laughter between fellow pundits Jamie Carragher, Micah Richards and Gary Neville.
Hatzidakis had returned to the sideline for the second half and fulfilled his duties as normal.
But the PGMOL, the organization in charge of professional referees in England, issued a statement.
It read: "PGMOL is aware of an incident involving assistant referee Constantine Hatzidakis and Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson at half-time during the Liverpool v Arsenal fixture at Anfield.
"We will review the matter in full once the game has concluded."
