Roy Keane believes that Manchester United are "in trouble" after losing yet another game away from home.

Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Newcastle was United's fifth away loss of the season in all competitions.

It also means that manager Erik ten Hag has still never won an away game in the Premier League against a team placed ninth or higher.

After being shown Ten Hag's road results against the EPL's top nine, former United captain Keane told Sky Sports on Sunday: "That looks ugly. It's the amount of goals - six at City, seven at Liverpool, four at Brentford.

"It's not good, it's not good. They're obviously in a tough place and the manager's under pressure.

"There were players that played last night for United that you thought were maybe going to leave the club in the summer. But you're still going back to the same players that have been getting United nowhere fast over the last one or two years.

"So, what's the sign of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

"This group's not going to change. If they're not going to work as hard as the opposition then you're in trouble... and they don't."

United ended the weekend seventh in the Premier League table and they are the only team in the top half with a negative goal difference.

The Red Devils have also struggled in the UEFA Champions League this season. After five games in Europe, Ten Hag's men sit bottom of UCL Group A.

United's next three games are all at home - with Chelsea, Bournemouth and Bayern Munich scheduled to visit Old Trafford in the next fortnight before Ten Hag takes his team to Anfield to face Liverpool on December 17.
