Tottenham Fan Pleads Guilty To Assaulting Arsenal Goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale
A 35-year-old man has pleaded guilty to assault by beating after kicking Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, 24, at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Joseph Watts, from London, appeared at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court on Friday.
Thirty-three days earlier after Arsenal's 2-0 win over Tottenham, Watts had climbed onto an advertising board and swung his right boot at Ramsdale.
Watts ran away from the scene, hid behind some friends before removing his coat in a bid to avoid police detection on his way out of the stadium.
But he was being tracked by cameras and was later identified and arrested.
During Friday's hearing, Watts also admitted that he had thrown four coins onto the pitch during the match.
As well as the assault charge, Watts pleaded guilty to throwing a missile onto a football playing area, and going on to an area adjacent to a playing area.
He was banned from attending soccer matches for four years, ordered to complete 100 hours of unpaid community service and to pay £100 to Ramsdale in compensation, as well as court costs totaling £299.
