The Best FIFA Football Awards 2022: Full List Of Winners
The seventh edition of The Best FIFA Football Awards took place in Paris on Monday night.
Eleven awards were up for grabs and all were based on performances between August 8, 2021 and December 18, 2022.
The first prize of the night was won by Manchester United and England star Mary Earps.
She was crowned The Best FIFA Women's Goalkeeper.
Argentina and Aston Villa stopper Emiliano Martinez was then named as the best men's goalkeeper of 2022.
England boss Sarina Wiegman and Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni were the next to be recognized.
Wiegman lifted the Best Women's Coach Award for the third time in her career, after leading England to glory at Euro 2022.
Scaloni became the first non-European to win the Best Men's Coach Award, having masterminded Argentina to a famous FIFA World Cup triumph.
Argentina's fans were also recognized for the role they played at Qatar 2022. They won the FIFA Fan Award.
Lionel Messi, Argentina's iconic captain, won The Best FIFA Men's Player award. He had also won the award in 2019.
Meanwhile, Barcelona and Spain playmaker Alexia Putellas won The Best FIFA Women's Player award for the second year in a row.
Unsurprisingly, Messi and Putellas also featured in the FIFPRO World 11s, as voted for by their peers.
Georgian defender Luka Lochoshvili received The FIFA Fair Play Award for helping to save the life of an opponent on the field.
While playing for Wolfsberger in Austria last year, Lochoshvili sprung to the aid of Georg Teigl, who had been knocked unconscious.
Lochoshvili held Teigl's tongue to prevent him from swallowing it.
