Antonio Conte Fired By Tottenham As Cristian Stellini Gets Promoted To Interim Manager Until End Of Season
Antonio Conte has been fired by Tottenham Hotspur.
Conte's dismissal was confirmed on Sunday evening after the club had agreed the terms of his compensation package.
Tottenham will now be managed by Conte's former assistant, Cristian Stellini, on an interim basis until the end of the season.
Stellini will be supported by coach Ryan Mason.
Conte took charge of 76 Spurs games between November 2021 and March 2023, winning 41 (53.95%) of them.
A club statement read: "We can announce that Head Coach Antonio Conte has left the Club by mutual agreement.
"We achieved Champions League qualification in Antonio's first season at the Club. We thank Antonio for his contribution and wish him well for the future.
"Cristian Stellini will take the team as Acting Head Coach for the remainder of the season, along with Ryan Mason as Assistant Head Coach."
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy said: "We have 10 Premier League games remaining and we have a fight on our hands for a Champions League place.
"We all need to pull together. Everyone has to step up to ensure the highest possible finish for our Club and amazing, loyal supporters."
Conte's final game as Tottenham manager was a 3-3 draw at Southampton on March 18.
Spurs blew a 3-1 lead in that game and Conte launched into a 1,000-word rant in his post-match press conference.
During the rant, Conte took aim at his players, as well as the club and its owners.
