Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly prepared to make Harry Kane one of the highest-paid players in the Premier League if he decides to stay at the club beyond the end of next season.

Kane, 29, has just under 12 months left on his current contract at Spurs and is believed to be earning around £200,000 per week.

But according the The Telegraph, he will be able to increase his weekly paycheck to £400,000 - a salary of £20.8 million per year - if he puts pen to paper on a new deal with the London club.

It was reported by French newspaper L'Equipe last season that Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne was the EPL's top-earner with a weekly wage of £425,000.

Kane is wanted by Bayern Munich this summer and the German giants have so far made two offers to Spurs, both of which have been rejected.

If Kane stays at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this year only to leave next summer then he could possibly command an even greater salary elsewhere.

This is because he would become a free agent in June 2024, so his next club would likely be willing to pay more to the player himself if they did not need to give Spurs a transfer fee.

Kane has previously made it clear that money is not his primary motivation.

He is determined to win team trophies and is also keen to break Alan Shearer's record as the Premier League's top goalscorer.

Kane has yet to win any major silverware during his career, despite reaching two EFL Cup finals and one Champions League final with Spurs.

He also captained England to second place at the European Championship in 2021.

As well as interest from Bayern, Real Madrid are known to be admirers of Kane.

But he may prefer to stay in England as he is currently just 48 goals away from breaking Shearer's EPL record.
