Usain Bolt Says Marcus Rashford Could Beat Him In 20-Yard Sprint Race
Jamaican sprint legend Usain Bolt currently holds world records as the fastest man ever over both 100 and 200 meters but he believes that Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford would beat him over a shorter distance.
Bolt set those records - 100m in 9.58 seconds, and 200m in 19.19 seconds - at his peak in 2009.
He has since retired from athletics but remains lightening quick at the age of 36.
Bolt is a big United fan and will captain a World XI against an England XI in a charity soccer game at his beloved Old Trafford on Sunday.
Speaking ahead of that match this week, Bolt spoke to former Premier League forward Darren Bent on talkSPORT.
Bent asked Bolt: "I read an article where you said that Rashford could beat you over 20 yards, is that correct?"
Bolt replied: "Yeah! Rashford is quick out the blocks, that is what he does.
"He has that burst of speed but after that... I told him: 'You could probably get me in 20 [yards]. But after that, it is over!"'
Rashford was not one of the five fastest players in the Premier League last season, according to data gathered by Opta.
Manchester City right-back Kyle Walker was officially no.1 after recording a top speed of 37.31 kilometers per hour (23.18 miles per hour).
Nottingham Forest forward Brennan Johnson, 22, was the second fastest EPL player last season, having hit 36.70 km/h (22.80 miles per hour) at his peak during his debut campaign in England's top division.
Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk (36.63 km/h), Newcastle midfielder Anthony Gordon (36.61 km/h) and Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez (36.53 km/h) completed the top five.
