Gio Reyna will be a Premier League player for the remainder of the 2023/24 season after joining Nottingham Forest on loan from Borussia Dortmund.

The 21-year-old USMNT star will wear the no.20 jersey for Forest and could make his EPL debut against Bournemouth on Sunday.

Reyna's loan deal does not include an option for Forest to sign him permanently.

Before flying to England, Reyna extended his contract with Dortmund until June 2026.

Reyna broke into the Dortmund first team at the age of 17 following a move from New York City FC, but his fledgling career has stalled somewhat in recent years.

He has started just one Bundesliga match this season, while he has not completed a full league game for Dortmund since March 2022.

Reyna missed 12 games with a broken fibula last season. He has also had multiple muscular injuries.

However, Reyna is currently fit and will be hoping to make a big impact during his short spell in England.

His father, Claudio Reyna, made 105 Premier League appearances in the 2000s while playing for Sunderland and Manchester City.
