West Ham United's London Stadium has been temporarily transformed from a Premier League soccer venue to a Major League Baseball arena.

The London Stadium will host two matches between the Chicago Cubs and the St. Louis Cardinals this week.

This will be the second edition of the MLB London Series. Two sold-out crowds saw the New York Yankees beat the Boston Red Sox, 17-13 and then 12-8, in the first back in 2019.

The COVID pandemic then led to the cancelation of the 2020 edition but further series have since been scheduled for 2024 and 2026.

All of those games are set to take place at the London Stadium.

Around 60,000 fans are expected to fill West Ham's Stratford home for each fixture.

In addition to the significant changes made to the playing area, both locker rooms have been modified to make them more suitable for baseball teams.

After the 2023 MLB London Series is over, West Ham will have 55 days to get the London Stadium ready for soccer again.

The Hammers' first home game of the 2023/24 season is against Chelsea on August 19.
