The 2023/24 UEFA Champions League officially begins this week with the preliminary qualifying round.

Andorra's Atletic Club d'Escaldes, Montenegro's Buducnost Podgorica, San Marino's Tre Penne and Iceland's Breidablik are the first teams involved.

It is highly unlikely that any of these clubs will go on to qualify for the group stage. To do so, they would need to knock out six opponents in total.

There are only six spaces still up for grabs in the group stage, with 26 of the 32 teams already confirmed.
