Record-Breakers Wrexham AFC Win Promotion To English Football League After 15 Years Away
Wrexham Association Football Club have won promotion back to the English Football League after a 15-year absence.
Saturday's 3-1 win over Boreham Wood saw Wrexham crowned champions of the National League, the division directly below EFL League Two.
Boreham Wood took the lead inside the opening 60 seconds courtesy of Lee Ndlovu, but Elliott Lee hit back for Wrexham before Paul Mullin scored two spectacular goals to take his tally for the season to 47.
Mullin's first goal of the day was remarkably similar to Harry Kane's famous strike against Arsenal in 2016.
Thousands of Wrexham fans rushed onto the field to celebrate once the final whistle had blown.

Wrexham's latest victory took them to 110 points with one game left to play. Title rivals Notts County, who won 5-2 away at Maidstone United earlier on Saturday, have 106 points.
In any other season, 106 points would have been enough to win the fifth tier of English soccer. Indeed, prior to this campaign no side had ever earned more than 105 points at this level.
But Notts County still have a lot of work to do if they are to join Wrexham in EFL League Two next season.
Only the top team in the National League gets direct promotion, so Notts County must now win a four-team playoff to go up alongside the Red Dragons.
Wrexham had been in the fifth tier of English soccer since 2008 when they finished dead last in League Two.
The club flirted with promotion back to the EFL multiple times, reaching the National League play-offs in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2019 and 2022.
Wrexham, a club founded in 1864 and based at a 10,771-capacity stadium called the Racecourse Ground in North Wales, have been owned by Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney since November 2020.
Both co-owners were at Saturday's game against Boreham Wood.
