Eric Dier arrived in Germany on Thursday to undergo a medical ahead of a January transfer from Tottenham Hotspur to Bayern Munich.

Bayern had been keen to sign Radu Dragusin, 21, from Genoa but ended up moving for Dier, 29, instead after the Romania center-back chose Spurs ahead of the Bundesliga champions.

According to Sky Sports, Bayern have agreed to pay Tottenham a transfer fee of £3.4 million for Dier.

This is £600,000 less than Spurs paid Sporting Lisbon when signing Dier back in 2014.

However, many will see this as a good deal for the London club considering that Dier's contract was due to expire in June.

Dier has made 365 appearances for Spurs, but has received just 198 minutes of game time since the arrival of new manager Ange Postecoglou in the summer.

Concerned by his lack of pace, Postecoglou has repeatedly opted to play full-backs Ben Davies and Emerson Royal out of position instead of Dier this season, following injuries to key central defenders Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven.

Dier will be reunited with former Spurs and England teammate Harry Kane in Munich.

Kane has made a superb start to life in Germany by scoring 25 goals in his first 22 games for Bayern.
