Bayern Munich And Harry Kane Strike "Agreement In Principle" But Tottenham Reject Opening Offer
Bayern Munich have reportedly agreed a deal in principle with Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.
The England captain is under contract with Tottenham until June next year, but the London club could be persuaded to sell Kane this summer to avoid losing him on a free transfer.
However, Spurs will not sell Kane cheaply and, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Bayern's opening offer of €70 million plus add-ons has already been rejected.
Although Bayern have yet to strike a deal with Spurs, Christian Falk from German newspaper BILD has reported that Kane has already "reached an agreement in principle" with the Bundesliga champions.
Kane's agent is his brother, Charlie, while their father, Pat, has also apparently been involved in transfer talks.
Falk tweeted on Tuesday: "Bayern and Harry Kane have reached an agreement in principle on a transfer for this summer.
"The family of Kane (father and brother) conducted the negotiations. The prerequisite for the transfer is now an agreement with Tottenham".
Real Madrid and Manchester United have also been linked with Kane this summer.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is believed to be highly reluctant to sell Kane to a Premier League rival.
Kane is currently 48 goals away from replacing Alan Shearer as the top scorer in Premier League history.
But he may be tempted to leave the EPL without breaking that record if it significantly increases his chances of winning major silverware.
Bayern have been crowned champions of Germany in each of the last 11 seasons and they have won the UEFA Champions League three times this century.
