How Much Will Kylian Mbappe Earn at Real Madrid?
Kylian Mbappe will become a Real Madrid player on July 1.
The 25-year-old has agreed a deal to join the Spanish champions the day after his current contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires.
Because Mbappe will no longer be under contract with PSG by then, his move to Real Madrid will be a 'free transfer'.
That simply means that Real Madrid will not be required to pay PSG a fee.
In reality, this free transfer will be one of the most expensive transactions in Real Madrid's 121-year history.
Mbappe is the highest-paid footballer in the history of European soccer.
According to The Athletic, his current salary costs PSG €200 million per year.
Mbappe will take a significant pay-cut to move to Madrid but he is still expected to become the highest-earning player at the club.
As reported by BBC Sport on Tuesday, Mbappe will sign a five-year contract at the Bernabeu worth a total of €225m.
It is said that his wages will be worth €15m per year, while he is also set to receive a €150m signing-on bonus, which will be paid in yearly installments.
In addition to this, Mbappe will retain a percentage of his image rights.
