Report: Kylian Mbappe Has Already Signed Real Madrid Contract
Kylian Mbappe has reportedly already signed a contract with Real Madrid.
The 25-year-old officially informed Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi last week that he would be leaving the French club at the end of the season.
Mbappe's PSG contract is due to expire on June 30.
According to Spanish newspaper MARCA, Mbappe's deal with Real will begin a day later on July 1.
MARCA claims that Mbappe finalized his agreement with Real two weeks ago after talks had started in January.
Mbappe is currently the highest-paid player in the history of European soccer.
His move to Madrid will apparently involve him taking a pay-cut, although MARCA reports that his new contract will still make him the top-earner at the Bernabeu.
If Mbappe does indeed officially become a Real Madrid player on July 1, fans will likely need to wait a little longer for his welcome ceremony.
That is because Mbappe is set to captain France at Euro 2024, which starts on June 14 and ends on July 14.
Mbappe is also understood to be keen on playing at the Paris Olympic Games, where the men's soccer tournament will take place between July 24 and August 9.
According to another Spanish publication, Okdiario, Mbappe will wear the no.10 jersey at Madrid.
Luka Modric is Real's current no.10 but his contract will run out in June.
No.7 has been Mbappe's squad number at club level since 2018 but that belongs to Vinicius Junior in Madrid.
