"Mo Salah Will Definitely Leave This Summer", Says Liverpool Legend
Mo Salah has been one of Liverpool's best signings of the Premier League era.
Since joining from Roma in June 2017, Salah has scored 204 goals in 332 games for the Reds, including 151 in 238 EPL outings.
The 31-year-old has been a Liverpool player for six and a half seasons but is the end of his Anfield career now fast approaching?
Fellow Liverpool legend Mark Lawrenson is convinced that the 2023/24 season will be Salah's last on Merseyside.
Salah is under contract until June 2025 but Lawrenson told Paddy Power this week: "100 per cent Mo Salah will definitely leave this summer.
"No matter what happens this season, I think there was a deal last summer. He'll go and play somewhere like Saudi Arabia and hopefully Liverpool get a massive fee and get a couple of players off the back of it.
"Salah will be a king in Saudi! He could've gone last summer and stormed into Jurgen Klopp's office and said 'I want to go' but he's not done that."
Lawrenson went on to claim that Salah's teammates will all be aware that he is likely to leave soon.
He also suggested that the other Liverpool players who can operate in the Egyptian's position will be effectively auditioning for the role of his replacement.
Former defender Lawrenson spent seven seasons at Liverpool in the 1980s, making 356 first-team appearances.
He won 13 trophies with the Reds, including five league titles, as well as the 1984 European Cup.
Salah has so far lifted seven trophies with Liverpool.
