Riyad Mahrez is leaving Manchester City to join Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia.

Al-Ahli — who won promotion to the Saudi Pro League last season — have agreed to pay City £30 million for the Algerian winger, according to BBC Sport.

Mahrez, 32, will be the third player to join Al-Ahli from the Premier League this summer — after Edouard Mendy signed from Chelsea and Roberto Firmino arrived on a free transfer following the expiration of his Liverpool contract.

N'Golo Kante, Ruben Neves and Kalidou Koulibaly have also swapped England for Saudi Arabia since the end of last season.

Kante has signed for champions Al-Ittihad, while Neves and Koulibaly now play for Al-Hilal. Both of those clubs were taken over by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund in June. The PIF also owns Al-Ahli, as well as Al Nassr, who are captained by Cristiano Ronaldo.

Mahrez will leave England as a Premier League legend.

The five-time EPL champion was a key member of the Leicester team that famously triumphed against all odds in 2016.

He then won the title with Man City in 2019, 2021, 2022 and 2023.

Mahrez scored 82 goals and provided 61 assists in 284 games during his EPL career.

He helped City win a famous treble last season, but was an unused substitute in the finals of both the FA Cup and UEFA Champions League.
