Tottenham ACCEPT Bundesliga-Record Bid From From Bayern Munich For Harry Kane
Tottenham Hotspur have accepted an offer from Bayern Munich for Harry Kane.
The England captain, 30, has been courted by Bayern all summer and Spurs rejected three offers before finally saying yes.
According to Sky Sports, Bayern's fourth bid was an initial £86 million, plus add-ons taking the overall value of the proposed deal close to £100m.
If the deal goes through it will smash the current record for the most expensive signing by a Bundesliga club.
The record is currently held by France defender Lucas Hernandez, who cost Bayern €80m (£69m) when he joined from Atletico Madrid in 2019.
Kane, who is Tottenham's all-time leading scorer with 280 goals, must now decide where he wants to play in the upcoming season.
Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are due to face RB Leipzig in the German Super Cup on Saturday.
Spurs will kick off their 2023/24 Premier League campaign with an away game at Brentford a day later.
Kane is expected to be announced as Tottenham's new club captain if he stays this summer.
He wore the captain's armband on Sunday in a 5-1 friendly win over Shakhtar Donetsk at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Kane scored four goals against Shakhtar in what could now prove to be his final appearance for the club.
Kane's current Spurs contract is due to expire in June 2024.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy had made it clear that he did not wish to sell Kane, despite fears he could eventually leave on a free transfer next summer if a contract extension was not agreed.
Kane had previously told Levy that he would not sign a new contract at Spurs this summer, although he had not ruled out extending his deal midway through the season if he became suitably impressed by the direction of the team under new manager Ange Postecoglou.
If Kane leaves for Munich before the Bundesliga's transfer deadline on September 1 then Brazilian striker Richarlison will be promoted to the role of Tottenham's lead frontman.
Richarlison, 26, scored just three goals in 35 first-team games for Spurs last season, after joining from Everton for an initial transfer fee of £50m.
But more than half of Richarlison's appearances came as a substitute, while he often played out wide rather than in his favored central position.
Playing as a no.9, Richarlison scored three goals in four starts for Brazil at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
He netted three times for Spurs during this summer's pre-season campaign, with all of those goals coming in a 5-1 win over Singapore's Lion City Sailors.
Spurs signed 19-year-old Argentine forward Alejo Veliz from Rosario Central earlier this week.
