Everton midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure was shown a straight red card for violent conduct in Monday's Premier League game against Tottenham.

Referee David Coote sent Doucoure off in the 58th minute at Goodison Park after he had struck Harry Kane in the face.

Kane had fouled Alex Iwobi moments earlier before charging into Doucoure.

Doucoure reacted by first pushing Kane in the chest and then hitting his face with his left hand.

Kane instantly fell to the floor, seemingly keen to draw the referee's attention to the attack.

Everton captain Seamus Coleman was not happy with Kane and was seen shouting at him as he lay on the floor.

But video replays later suggested that Doucoure may have pushed his fingers into Kane's eyes.

Doucoure was sent off while the game was level at 0-0.

But Spurs took the lead in the 68th minute when Kane converted a penalty after Michael Keane had fouled Cristian Romero.

That was far from Keane's last involvement in the game.

Spurs were reduced to 10 men in the 88th minute when substitute Lucas Moura was rightly dismissed for an awful tackle on Keane.

With Spurs sitting deep, Keane then scored a stunning last-minute equalizer by smashing a shot into the top corner from 28 yards.
