Andre Onana saved a last-minute penalty kick as Manchester United beat Copenhagen 1-0 on Tuesday to keep alive hopes of progressing beyond the UEFA Champions League group stage.

Harry Maguire's first goal in more than 20 months gave the Red Devils a precious lead in the 72nd minute.

But that lead looked like it was set to be wiped out after Scott McTominay gave away a spot-kick for the second game in a row.

The penalty was taken by Jordan Larsson - son of former United striker Henrik Larsson.

Old Trafford fell silent as Larsson stepped up to the ball in the seventh minute of added time.

The famous old stadium was then filled with noise seconds later after goalkeeper Onana dived to his left to parry the ball away.

That proved to be the final action of the game as the final whistle followed immediately afterwards. This was United's first win in a Champions League game since November 2021.

United - after losing to Bayern Munich and Galatasaray earlier this season - now have three points from three matches in Group A.

Erik ten Hag's side sit in third place, just one point below Galatasaray, who lost 3-1 to Bayern in Turkey earlier on Tuesday.
