Watch Bernardo Silva Spark Wild Scenes At Etihad Stadium With Two Goals Against Real Madrid
Bernardo Silva scored his sixth and seventh goals of the season to fire Manchester City into a deserved 2-0 lead over Real Madrid on Wednesday night.
Eight days after the first leg of their Champions League semi-final had finished 1-1 in Madrid, City dominated from the first whistle in Manchester.
Erling Haaland was denied by two stunning saves from Thibaut Courtois in the opening 21 minutes.
But Courtois was beaten at his near post by a powerful shot from Silva moments later.
Silva's first strike, which arrived in the 23rd minute, put City 2-1 up on aggregate.
City players and fans were overjoyed, with Jack Grealish leading the celebrations in one corner of a jumping Etihad Stadium.
Grealish was then involved in a move that led to Silva scoring again in the 37th minute.
The former Villa ace found Ilkay Gundogan in the box. Gundogan's shot was blocked by Eder Militao but the ball bounced up into the path of Silva, who stooped to head it into the net.
Manuel Akanji and Julian Alvarez added goals in the second half as City won 4-0 on the night and 5-1 on aggregate to reach their second Champions League final in four seasons.
