Brahim Diaz scored a bizarre goal for Real Madrid with the final kick of his team's 5-3 win over rivals Atletico Madrid in the semi-finals of the Supercopa de Espana on Wednesday.

With Atletico losing 4-3 and time fast running out, goalkeeper Jan Oblak decided to go forward for a corner kick.

The ball was then cleared out for an Atleti throw-in but Oblak remained in the Real half.

So when Cesar Azpilicueta's long throw was eventually hoofed away by Joselu, Oblak was in a bit of trouble.

Oblak had a 15-yard head start on Diaz but that proved to be insufficient.

The 24-year-old winger sprinted past the 31-year-old keeper before shooting into an empty net from 40 yards.

Diaz was booked for taking his shirt off while celebrating the goal, which sealed Real's place in Sunday's final against either Barcelona or Osasuna.

This was Diaz's sixth goal of the season and the eighth of his Real career.
