West Ham 2-2 Arsenal

Arsenal dropped points in their quest to win the Premier League as they blew a two-goal lead to draw at West Ham on Sunday.

The Gunners made a dream start at the London Stadium as Gabriel Jesus and Martin Odegaard scored to fire the away side 2-0 up inside the opening nine minutes.

But West Ham were given a route back into the game before half-time when Gabriel fouled Lucas Paqueta inside the penalty area and Said Benrahma converted the spot-kick.

Arsenal were awarded a penalty of their own early in the second half when Michail Antonio handled a shot from Gabriel Martinelli.

But Bukayo Saka missed from 12 yards.

West Ham equalized just 140 seconds after Saka's penalty miss when Jarrod Bowen nailed a sweet volley following a hopeful high pass from Thilo Kehrer.

The game was now wide open and either side could have won it.

West Ham came closest to scoring a late winner when Antonio struck the post.

Sunday's result left Arsenal four points above title rivals Manchester City, who have a superior goal difference and have played one game fewer.

City's next EPL game is against Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium on April 26.

Arsenal will first host Southampton on Friday night, meaning they could be seven points clear by the time they face City.
