Bukayo Saka Scores And Assists As England Beat Ukraine At Wembley
Bukayo Saka scored one goal and assisted another as England beat Ukraine 2-0 to take control of their Euro 2024 qualifying group.
Both goals arrived late in the first half in front of 83,947 fans at Wembley Stadium, including more than 5,000 Ukrainians.
Saka set up Kane for the opener on 37 minutes before scoring the second himself with a fine solo strike moments later.
Sunday's victory came less than 72 hours after England had begun their qualifying campaign with a 2-1 away win over Italy.
Kane had made headlines in Naples by becoming England's outright leading scorer and he enhanced his record-breaking tally further at Wembley to move onto 55 international goals.
The Tottenham striker found Saka with a long-range pass before running into the penalty area to get on the end of the Arsenal star's inswinging cross.
Saka then produced a moment of magic to double England's lead.
After collecting the ball from Jordan Henderson, Saka spun defender Mykola Matvienko before bending a spectacular shot into the top corner from 25 yards.
Saka stayed on the pitch for the full game but Kane was substituted off for Ivan Toney in the 81st minute.
Toney became the 56th England player to make their senior international debut under manager Gareth Southgate.
England will resume their bid for Euro 2024 qualification in June when they play away against Malta before returning to Wembley to take on North Macedonia.
