Cristiano Ronaldo Goal Helps Al Nassr Beat Al-Ta'ee To Boost Saudi Pro League Title Hopes
Al-Ta'ee 0-2 Al Nassr
Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 13th goal for Al Nassr as a 2-0 away victory at Al-Ta'ee boosted his team's hopes of winning the Saudi Pro League title this season.
Ronaldo converted a penalty kick 52 minutes into Tuesday's game before Talisca wrapped up the win with a late solo goal.
Al Nassr had dropped points in three of their previous four league matches.
That poor run of form had allowed rivals Al-Ittihad to move five points clear at the top of the table.
But it was Al-Ittihad's turn to slip up on Tuesday as they blew a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 at Al-Hilal, who equalized from a 96th minute spot-kick.
Tuesday's results mean that Al Nassr now sit just three points behind the leaders with three rounds of fixtures left to play.
Al-Ittihad have a superior head-to-head record though, so Al Nassr are effectively 3.5 points behind.
Next up for Ronaldo and Co is a home game against Al-Shabab next Tuesday.
