Cristiano Ronaldo Limps Away After Scary Moment Involving Pitch Invader During Portugal's Game With Bosnia & Herzegovina
Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo was given a fright during his team's 5-0 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina at Zenica's Bilino Polje Stadium on Monday.
After scoring two early goals, Ronaldo was targeted by a pitch invader who ran onto the field and tried to take a selfie with the 38-year-old in the 39th minute.
The pitch invader was seemingly a fan of Ronaldo's as he was wearing an Al Nassr jersey.
Nevertheless, Ronaldo did not appear to be happy after being startled by the fan approaching him from behind.
Footage also appeared to suggest that the fan - or one of the five security guards that swiftly reacted to remove him - may have stood on Ronaldo's foot.
Ronaldo initially seemed to be physically hurt as he was seen limping. However, he was able to continue playing until the 65th minute when he was substituted off.
This incident came just three days after another pitch invader made a beeline for Ronaldo during Portugal's 3-2 win over Slovakia.
On that occasion, Ronaldo shook the young fan's hand.
Ronaldo has scored 40 goals in 43 games for Al Nassr and Portugal so far this year.
