Al Nassr captain Cristiano Ronaldo converted two penalty kicks during Tuesday's 4-0 win over Al-Shabab.

But he refused the chance to complete his first ever hat-trick of penalties after Al Nassr were awarded a third spot-kick.

Ronaldo had been on target from 12 yards twice inside the opening 38 minutes.

He also had a headed goal harshly disallowed before assisting Sadio Mane for Al Nassr's third late in the first half.

Ronaldo scored a hat-trick in a 5-0 victory over Al Fateh last week and he looked set to record another treble shortly after the hour-mark on Tuesday when referee Ismail Elfath pointed to the spot for a third time.

But Ronaldo handed the ball to teammate Abdulrahman Ghareeb to allow him to take the penalty instead.

This left a lot of fans disappointed. They clearly wanted to see Ronaldo's 64th career hat-trick.

Some fans even booed as Ghareeb stepped up. To add to their frustration, Ghareeb missed from the spot as his effort struck the post.

Ronaldo almost completed his hat-trick anyway in the 80th minute when he hit the woodwork with a looping header.

Sultan Al-Ghannam scored from the rebound to wrap up another big win for Ronaldo and Co, who now sit sixth in the Saudi Pro League table.
