Al Nassr captain Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 50th goal of 2023 in a 5-2 win away at Al-Shabab in the quarter-finals of Saudi Arabia's King Cup on Monday.

The 38-year-old played a slick one-two with fellow Portugal international Otavio before burying a low shot from 10 yards in the 74th minute.

That made the score 4-1 to Al Nassr after earlier strikes from Seko Fofana, Sadio Mane and Abdulrahman Ghareeb.

Ronaldo received a standing ovation in the 82nd minute when he was substituted off.

His replacement, Mohammed Maran, then scored Al Nassr's fifth goal in added time following an assist by Mane.

Otavio claimed two assists in Monday's match, having set up Mane's goal as well as Ronaldo's.

Brazilian forward Carlos and Saudi Arabia winger Hattan Bahebri got the goals for Al-Shabab.

Al Nassr have now reached the semi-finals of the King Cup for the second season in a row.

Ronaldo and Co lost 1-0 to Al-Wehda in the semi-finals last year.

Of Ronaldo's 50 goals in 2023, 40 have come while playing for Al Nassr. He scored the other 10 in nine appearances for Portugal.
