Cristiano Ronaldo Scores First Goal At Mrsool Park As Long-Range Free-Kick Helps Al Nassr Beat Abha In Saudi Pro League
Al Nassr 2-1 Abha
Cristiano Ronaldo scored his first ever goal at Mrsool Park as Al Nassr beat Abha for the second time in a week.
Ronaldo had netted eight times in his first nine games for Al Nassr but all of those goals had come in away matches.
His first home goal for Al Nassr arrived from a spectacular free-kick 78 minutes into Saturday's Saudi Pro League game.
Ronaldo's long-range leveler came after Abdulfattah Adam had fired Abha into a shock lead midway through the first half.
Moments after Al Nassr's equalizer, Abha were reduced to 10 men when Zakaria Al Sudani picked up his second yellow card of the evening.
Ronaldo and Co then made their numerical advantage count in the 86th minute when Talisca converted a penalty kick to seal a 2-1 victory.
Al Nassr had beaten Abha 3-1 in the King Cup five days earlier.
Ronaldo lost his temper during that game and was shown a yellow card for throwing a mini tantrum at half-time.
But he was in a much better mood after Saturday's game, which was witnessed live by 25,000 fans in Riyadh.
Saturday's win kept Al Nassr just one point behind rivals Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League title race.
