Watch Cristiano Ronaldo Spectacularly Punish Two Goalkeeping Errors As Al Nassr Win EIGHTH Straight Game
Cristiano Ronaldo scored a brilliant brace as Al Nassr beat Al Akhdoud 3-0 on Friday night to record an eighth straight win in all competitions.
Saudi Arabia midfielder Sami Al-Naji also found the net on Friday as Al Nassr moved to within one point of Pro League leaders Al-Hilal.
Al-Naji opened the scoring in the 13th minute when he finished off a long passing move with a simple strike from 11 yards.
The score remained 1-0 until the 77th minute when Ronaldo got his first goal of the game by punishing an error from Al Akhdoud keeper Paulo Vitor.
Brazilian stopper Vitor attempted to intercept an Alex Telles cross with a diving punch but missed the ball, which then deflected off the head of defender Solomon Kvirkvelia into Ronaldo's path.
Ronaldo controlled the ball with a clean first touch before arrowing a fine shot into the net, passed Kvirkvelia on the goal-line, from a tricky angle.
The 38-year-old's second goal was even more spectacular but it was also partly assisted by more questionable keeping.
Vitor came sprinting out of his penalty area in an effort to get to an Ayman Ahmed through pass before Abdulmajeed Al-Sulaiheem.
The keeper succeeded in thwarting Al-Sulaiheem but kicked the ball straight to Ronaldo, who lobbed him superbly from more than 35 yards.
Ronaldo has now scored 24 goals in 24 games for Al Nassr this season, including 15 in 13 Saudi Pro League matches.
