Cristiano Ronaldo Scores Superb Solo Goal As Al Nassr Beat Al-Shabab From 2-0 Down To Keep Title Dream Alive
Cristiano Ronaldo completed an impressive turnaround as Al Nassr came from two goals down to beat Al-Shabab 3-2 on Tuesday.
Al-Shabab, who are third in the Saudi Pro League, went 2-0 up inside 40 minutes at Mrsool Park thanks to two strikes from Cristian Guanca.
But Al Nassr hit back with a goal from each member of their star-studded front three.
Former Benfica ace Talisca started the comeback just before half-time with a fine first-touch finish from 16 yards.
Saudi Arabia international Abdulrahman Ghareeb then tied the game on 51 minutes with a neat turn and finish on the edge of the six-yard box.
Ronaldo's decisive strike arrived eight minutes later when the five-time Ballon d'Or winner curled home from long range after dribbling past two defenders on the left side of the field.
The 38-year-old has now scored 14 goals in 15 Saudi Pro League games.
Al Nassr's title rivals, Al-Ittihad, also won on Tuesday when they beat Al-Batin 1-0.
Al-Ittihad now sit three points above Al Nassr with two rounds of fixtures remaining.
The leaders have a winning head-to-head record against Al Nassr, meaning they would win the title if those two teams finished level on points.
Al-Ittihad therefore require just three points from their remaining two matches to secure their first title since 2009.
