Gareth Southgate's England remain unbeaten since last year's World Cup after beating Australia 1-0 in a friendly at Wembley Stadium on Friday night.

Southgate named an experimental XI as Chelsea's Levi Colwill was handed his debut at left-back, while West Ham forward Jarrod Bowen made his first start for the Three Lions.

With captain Harry Kane rested, Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins scored the only goal of the game.

Watkins slid in his third international goal in the 57th minute following a fine assist from Jack Grealish, who was England's best player.

But England were far from convincing and could even have lost the game were it not for some wasteful Australian finishing.
