Erling Haaland Scores 30th EPL Goal With Brilliant Bicycle Kick Against Southampton
Southampton 1-4 Man City
Erling Haaland scored his 30th Premier League goal of the season in style on Saturday by nailing an acrobatic bicycle kick during Manchester City's win at Southampton.
The 22-year-old, who had earlier headed home the game's opening goal, made it 3-0 to City in the 68th minute when he met a Jack Grealish cross with a flying finish.
Grealish and Julian Alvarez were also on target for City at St Mary's. Sekou Mara netted a consolation goal for Southampton.
Haaland has scored six hat-tricks in all competitions since joining City from Borussia Dortmund last year. But he was denied the chance to try for a seventh as manager Pep Guardiola substituted him off moments after his second goal of the day had hit the net.
It has taken Haaland just 27 games to score his first 30 goals in the Premier League.
The all-time record for most goals in any EPL season is currently 34 and is shared by Andy Cole and Alan Shearer. Cole set the record in 1993/94 before Shearer equaled it in 1994/95.
Shearer is the only player to have reached the 30-goal mark in multiple seasons, having also got there in 1993/94 and 1995/96.
Mo Salah, Luis Suarez, Cristiano Ronaldo, Harry Kane, Robin van Persie, Thierry Henry and Kevin Phillips are the only other players who have scored at least 30 times in a single EPL campaign.
