Erling Haaland Scores Rare Goal From Outside Of 18-Yard Box As Man City Beat Brighton
Erling Haaland scored the 45th goal of his Premier League career to help Manchester City beat Brighton & Hove Albion 2-1 on Saturday.
It came 19 minutes into the match to make the score 2-0 after Julian Alvarez had earlier broken the deadlock.
Haaland's goal came when he intercepted a pass from Carlos Baleba before firing home from more than 20 yards.
This was only Haaland's second EPL goal scored from outside of the 18-yard box. His first came against Wolves last season.
City looked comfortable at half-time on Saturday but Brighton rallied after the break.
Ansu Fati's second EPL goal gave Brighton hope of a late comeback before Manuel Akanji was sent off in added time, but City held on for a seventh league win of the season.
Akanji will now be suspended for next weekend's Manchester derby.
