FA Cup Highlights: Watch Ilkay Gundogan Score Two Stunning Goals As City Beat United In All-Manchester Final
Manchester City 2-1 Manchester United
Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan scored two stunning goals against Manchester United to win Saturday's FA Cup final at Wembley.
His first arrived after just 12 seconds and made history as the fastest goal ever in an FA Cup final.
Gundogan's second came early in the second half to restore City's lead after a 33rd-minute Bruno Fernandes penalty had drawn United level.
Both of Gundogan's goals were the products of volleyed shots from outside of the penalty area.
They were also both assisted by Kevin De Bruyne.
The assist for Gundogan's opener was a bit lucky. United defender Victor Lindelof headed the ball onto De Bruyne and it fell invitingly for Gundogan to fire home from 23 yards.
But De Bruyne's role in City's second goal of the game was much more deliberate.
As De Bruyne lined up to take a free-kick on the right touchline, the penalty area was full of players.
But De Bruyne spotted Gundogan in space inside the D. The cross was perfect, as was Gundogan's left-footed finish.
Gundogan thought he had completed his hat-trick in the 72nd minute but he was denied by an offside call.
City were not to be denied another victory though and they are now just one more win away from completing a famous treble of trophies this season.
