Manchester City's Winless Streak Extended By Deserved Defeat At Aston Villa
Manchester City's bid for a fourth consecutive Premier League title was dealt a blow on Wednesday night as Pep Guardiola's side failed to win for a fourth straight game.
After drawing with Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham, City lost 1-0 at Aston Villa - who jumped ahead of the champions in the table as a result.
Leon Bailey scored the only goal of the game in the 74th minute at Villa Park when he dribbled with the ball from the halfway line before beating City keeper Ederson with a deflected effort from 19 yards.
There was a large slice of luck involved in Bailey's goal but Villa's victory was by no means a fluke.
Unai Emery's men thoroughly outplayed City and recorded 22 shots - 20 more than the visitors.
City now sit fourth in the Premier League, six points behind leaders Arsenal.
Villa - who have won 14 EPL home games in a row - occupy third place and are just four points below the Gunners.
Liverpool are second after winning 2-0 at Sheffield United.
